House Republican Leadership Team Backs Dahlstrom
Anchorage, AK – Today, Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom earned the endorsement of Majority Whip Tom Emmer in her race for Congress. Emmer joins Speaker Mike Johnson, Leader Steve Scalise, and Chairwoman Elise Stefanik in backing Dahlstrom, giving her the support of the House Republican Leadership team. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy has also announced his support of the Lt. Governor’s bid, consolidating the major Republican support behind her candidacy.
“Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom is the right choice for Alaska and best positioned to win this seat. Nancy never backs down from a tough fight, and I know she will continue to put Alaskans first when she gets to Washington. I’m excited to work with her to flip this seat and grow our Republican majority,” stated Majority Whip Tom Emmer.
Whip Emmer represents Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District in Congress. Before becoming Majority Whip in the 118th Congress, he served as Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

They see that we need to flip this seat in November to ensure we have a strong Republican Majority that can focus on a true conservative agenda that works for Alaska,” stated Lt. Governor Dahlstrom.
Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom announced her race at the end of last year and has already consolidated support from key local and national Republicans, after raising $200k in just one month. She entered the race citing failed leadership from current incumbent Mary Peltola and will face-off against her first in the open primary on August 20th.
Nancy Dahlstrom currently serves as the Lt. Governor for the state of Alaska. Nancy was first appointed to serve as a State Representative in 2003 and then served as a Senior Advisor for Military Affairs. In 2018, Nancy took on the role to serve as the Commissioner of Corrections and was a leader in cracking down on crime and ensuring criminals serve their time. As Lieutenant Governor, Nancy has prioritized public safety, energy security, and emergency preparedness.
