Stefanik joins Gov. Dunleavy and Speaker Johnson in backing Dahlstrom’s bid
Anchorage, AK – Today, House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik endorsed Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom for U.S. Congress.
“Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom is the type of strong America First fighter we need in Congress. I’m excited to endorse Nancy as we look to flip this critical congressional seat and maintain a Republican majority in the House. Alaskans can trust Nancy to fight for them every day in Congress and that is why she is our best chance to win this seat,” stated Chairwoman Stefanik.
Stefanik was first elected to the House in 2014 and was the youngest woman ever elected to Congress in United States history. Now, she serves in Republican leadership as the Conference Chair.
Stefanik joins a growing list of leaders and organizations backing the Lt. Governor in her bid for Alaska’s at-large seat. Both Governor Mike Dunleavy and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson have announced their support for Dahlstrom, along with Winning for Women, a national organization committed to electing conservative women.
The race is set to be one of the most competitive in the country and has shifted towards Republicans after the Lt. Governor launched her campaign at the end of the year.

Governor Nancy Dahlstrom. “Alaska needs new representation in Congress to fight for our freedoms, protect our state, and secure our country. Nancy Dahlstrom currently serves as the Lt. Governor for the state of Alaska. Nancy was first appointed to serve as a State Representative in 2003 and then served as a Senior Advisor for Military Affairs. In 2018, Nancy took on the role to serve as the Commissioner of Corrections and was a leader in cracking down on crime and ensuring criminals serve their time. As Lieutenant Governor, Nancy has prioritized public safety, energy security, and emergency preparedness.
