Dahlstrom builds momentum as key Republicans back her bid for Congress
Anchorage, AK – House Majority Leader Steve Scalise has endorsed Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom in her campaign for Congress. Scalise joins a growing list of top level Republicans in backing Dahlstrom, including Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy, Speaker Mike Johnson, and Conference Chair Elise Stefanik.
In his announcement, Majority Leader Scalise stated, “I’m excited to endorse Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom for Congress. Nancy has always put Alaska first and she is the exact type of principled conservative we need in Congress. Nancy has what it takes to defeat Mary Peltola and grow our Republican Majority in 2024.”
Since announcing at the end of the year, Dahlstrom has consolidated key conservative support and her entrance shifted the race towards Republicans. The race for the at-large seat is set to be one of the most competitive in the country and one of the Republicans’ top pick-up opportunities.
“Leader Scalise embodies what it means to be a principled conservative and I’m proud to have his support,” stated Lt. Governor Dahlstrom. “There is so much work to be done – from ending Biden’s countless executive actions crushing our state to stopping the flood of illegal immigrants and drugs into our country. We need a fresh, conservative Alaskan voice in Congress, and I’m honored to have the trust of leadership to be that person.”
Nancy Dahlstrom currently serves as the Lt. Governor for the state of Alaska. Nancy was first appointed to serve as a State Representative in 2003 and then served as a Senior Advisor for Military Affairs. In 2018, Nancy took on the role to serve as the Commissioner of Corrections and was a leader in cracking down on crime and ensuring criminals serve their time. As Lieutenant Governor, Nancy has prioritized public safety, energy security, and emergency preparedness.
