ANCHORAGE, AK – Mary Peltola announced yesterday that she will be forgoing her duties as our congresswoman to go fishing.
As Alaska’s sole member of Congress, this will leave the state with no voice in the U.S. House as critical votes are brought this week.
Her announcement came just days after she said her opinion on Joe Biden’s fitness to run for president is “irrelevant.”
It begs the question: does Mary Peltola think her post as Alaska’s sole congressional representative is as “irrelevant” as her opinion on Joe Biden’s ability to serve as commander-in-chief?
“Every Alaskan should be asking why Mary Peltola is not in Washington representing us like she signed up to do. Her comments and her actions are embarrassing and hurting our state,” Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom said in a statement. “It’s clear that Mary Peltola thinks her post is as ‘irrelevant’ as her opinion on Joe Biden’s ability to serve. Alaska needs a congresswoman who will show up for work. We deserve better than this.”
